I've known Berna ever since we were little - even had the chance that maybe she could one day be my sister-in-law. Well - that didn't happen. Berna met the man of her dreams in Jo'burg and told me he would walk through fire for her and that she loves him unconditionally. The wedding was lots of fun - not even the late afternoon thunderstorm or the cut in electricity could spoil it for them (or the guests). And as the saying goes... rain on your wedding day makes for a happy marriage. Congrats Mr and Mrs Du Toit.

Anneke and Pietman at Clementia
Confetti is Italian for sweets which in Italy are thrown over the couple as they emerge from the church in the same way we use paper confetti... or rather rose petals these days. (I think the parents of these little bridesmaids are glad sweets are not the custom in South Africa - I don't think the little ones needed more energy...) Together with the bridal couple, the girls made beautiful pics on an overcast Saturday on the banks of the Vaal River. Confetti (I've been to weddings where they used popcorn as confetti) is used to bestow prosperity and fertility on the couple - exactly my wish for Anneke and Pietman.

Fanie and Suzelle at St Andrews
I've known Fanie and Suzelle a while and looked forward to taking their wedding pictures. They are very much in love and also two beautiful people - two ingredients that work well together when taking wedding pictures. Suzelle's dress were something out of the ordinary and a dress not everyone can get away with. We took the couples shots before the wedding ceremony and because we started late, didn't have much time but the end result proved to be excellent.
Jacques and Elvira at The Key
Elvira and I have been colleagues for a few years which made it very easy to photograph her on her wedding day. They had an intimate wedding at The Key Guest Villa and while I took stunning pictures of the bride in the bridal suite, I decided to take the couple to a secluded old building. The pics proved to be worth it in the end.

Thomas and Chantelle at Grootbosch
It was a windy day with predictions of rain bur fortunately the day turned out to be perfect for this happy couple. The clouds were lovely when I arrived but disappeared after the ceremony. But Grootbosch is a great venue with a beautiful chapel and not even the wind or the Currie Cup final could spoil this beautiful day for Thomas and Chantelle. Chantelle was a beautiful bride and a joy to work with.
