Martie and Desmond (part II)
Sorry - another one of the pics I wanted to publish. (Wasn't concentrating and published one twice.)
Martie and Desmond in Klerksdorp
What a lovely couple, one can see they are not only in love, but best friends as well. With the nerves before the wedding ceremony almost getting the better of the bride (thank goodness for the port at the guest house) and making her a few (appropriate) minutes late - this was a real "boere troue''. And Martie and Desmond enjoyed every minute. Thanks for making me part of your special day. Congratulations.

Elanie and Aubrey at Clementia
The theme for this lavish wedding on the banks of the (flooded) Vaal River was Moulin Rouge. A lovely blend of feathers, red roses, purple and lace. And throw in some real Slush Puppy (yes, like at the movies), popcorn confetti, heart shaped lollipops and peanuts and you know you're in for a treat - a special blend of creative talent while you know you are not breaking the bank. That is off course what you get when a graphic designer and an accountant tie the knot. Elanie and Aubrey - you are beautiful together. Enjoy married life.

Berna & Floris at Die Boslapa
I've known Berna ever since we were little - even had the chance that maybe she could one day be my sister-in-law. Well - that didn't happen. Berna met the man of her dreams in Jo'burg and told me he would walk through fire for her and that she loves him unconditionally. The wedding was lots of fun - not even the late afternoon thunderstorm or the cut in electricity could spoil it for them (or the guests). And as the saying goes... rain on your wedding day makes for a happy marriage. Congrats Mr and Mrs Du Toit.

Anneke and Pietman at Clementia
Confetti is Italian for sweets which in Italy are thrown over the couple as they emerge from the church in the same way we use paper confetti... or rather rose petals these days. (I think the parents of these little bridesmaids are glad sweets are not the custom in South Africa - I don't think the little ones needed more energy...) Together with the bridal couple, the girls made beautiful pics on an overcast Saturday on the banks of the Vaal River. Confetti (I've been to weddings where they used popcorn as confetti) is used to bestow prosperity and fertility on the couple - exactly my wish for Anneke and Pietman.

Fanie and Suzelle at St Andrews
I've known Fanie and Suzelle a while and looked forward to taking their wedding pictures. They are very much in love and also two beautiful people - two ingredients that work well together when taking wedding pictures. Suzelle's dress were something out of the ordinary and a dress not everyone can get away with. We took the couples shots before the wedding ceremony and because we started late, didn't have much time but the end result proved to be excellent.
